Church & Society Network

The Church & Society Network explores a wide range of social issues and their intersection with our faith.

The Church and Society Network started in 2015 to explore a wide range of social issues. It produces newsletters and has run events on topics such as inter-faith activities, refugees and asylum seekers, rising hate crime, and mental health. The Network draws on the experiences of local church involvement with their communities, such as food banks and youth ministry, to share positive outcomes and good practice.

Advocates for Racial Justice and Inter-Cultural Ministry

A key hub of the Church & Society Network is the group of Advocates for Racial Justice and Inter-Cultural Ministry. This group works to:

  • Engage with issues of racial justice both within and beyond the church.
  • Encourage and support greater inclusiveness and diversity in URC gatherings, including the Youth Assembly.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops on diversity within local churches.
