Eco Day 2026: Nature on our Doorstep

Churchgoers from across the Thames North Synod are warmly invited to join us for our 2026 Eco Day, Nature on our Doorstep, hosted at Amersham Free Church on Saturday 13 June 2026, from 9.30am to 4pm.

It's a chance to spend a relaxed day together exploring the animal and plant life around us, picking up gardening tips, and learning practical ways to save energy at home and in our churches.

What's on the day

Talk: Amersham in Bloom

Hear from our gold medal winning Amersham in Bloom team, who will describe how they transform public places to benefit both nature and people — and share ideas you can take back to your own community.

Optional walk to the River Misbourne

Come for an optional guided walk through the woods to the River Misbourne, one of England's rare chalk streams. It's around 45 minutes of gentle walking, but please bring strong shoes. We'll provide a bus back to the church afterwards.

Lunch and tea

Enjoy a delicious lunch made with locally sourced produce, followed by home-made cakes for tea — a chance to relax and chat with others from across the Synod.
